Caption : London’s hot new underground-inspired nightspot, Cahoots boldly lambasted yesterday’s (SAT) tube strike over the sacking of a driver who failed two alcohol tests, by putting on a massive union strike which encouraged drunkenness on the tubes.
In a cheeky dig at the London Underground workers who walked out at 9.30pm in defence of the driver caught ‘drunk' at the wheel, a mass of workers from the 1940’s-themed venue - which boasts an entire tube carriage inside - invited stunned onlookers to cross their picket line and drink cocktails in the only open “station” that people were still permitted to drink alcohol in.
A vast crowd of Cahoots staff filled Soho’s Kingly Court, dressed in authentic post-war attire and waving satirical banners bearing words like “What do we want, cocktails?” or “Gin drinking on Cahoots trains permitted."
A bemused onlooker said: “It was deliciously audacious and naughty. The driver would definitely be a fan.
"It’s been illegal to enjoy booze on the tube for seven years, so the idea of drinking on a fictional commute is great. I wish TFL would follow their lead by not shutting at inconvenient times and being more fun."
Cahoots has caused a massive splash in the capital, by transporting guests back to 1946 with its authentic, vintage underground station complete with wooden escalator, sandbags, platform bar and post-war tube carriage.
