We now know that jetpacks aren't just limited to science fiction tales. No, they’re real and as these incredible images show, they’re amazing. Swiss ex-fighter pilot Yves Rossy, nicknamed 'Jetman', teamed up with parachuter Vince Reffet to wear jet-propelled wings and zip across the open Dubai skies.
The beautifully cinematic video features the daredevils, known as Jetman Dubai, travelling at average speeds of 124 miles per hour. They often fly in formation and perform breathtaking in-air tricks such as high-energy barrel rolls. The first half of their video has the pale-orange desert as a backdrop with the two flying towards the sun. In the second half of the 12-minute video, the duo glide effortlessly above the city and its massive skyscrapers. One of the final scenes shows them criss-crossing the 2,716-feet Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.
