Sudanese refugees protest in The Hague against revocation of their residence permits
On July 14, the refugee collective Wij zijn Hier (We Are Here), in collaboration with the Darfur Union and the Sudanese Democratic Forum, organized a demonstration in The Hague against the impending revocation of residence permits for Sudanese refugees. More than 100 Sudanese living in the Netherlands with a refugee status received a letter from the IND stating that they will go through their cases again. According to the IND, Sudan would now be safe enough and that is the argument for the Dutch state to try to take away the right of residence of many Sudanese refugees and to deport them to Sudan. We Are Here takes action against this with a demonstration and an open letter.
