Headline : Bear Cub Searches For Mother
Caption :
“Mum? Where are you?”

This young black bear cub was spotted picking over wheat field crops to try and spot its mother.

The yearling temporarily lost sight of its two siblings and parent in Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, North Carolina.

Thankfully, says photographer Richard Thigpen, of Harrisburg, NC., the family were quickly reunited.

He says: “There was a Momma and three yearling cubs eating in the wheat fields. At one point, one cub lost sight of the rest of the family and stood up above the crops to see where the rest of the family went to. After eating they crossed the road and headed back into the woods for the evening. As you can see, the cubs are very observant of their surroundings.”
