Mission: Impossible 7 locomotive train crash scene in Stoney Middleton, Derbyshire. The British Railway Britannia replica steam train is driven off the cliff for the final crash scene in Tom Cruise's latest blockbuster film. The locomotive fly's through the air in spectacular style before crashing into the quarry below. The scene was filmed by two helicopters and many remote cameras. Tom cruise arrived just before the final crash scene in his personnel helicopter, he flew around the film set before landing in the fields near the rail track above the quarry.
The steam train was built specifically for the film and resembles a British Railway Britannia. It has been seen at other Mission: Impossible 7 film sets including Norway and North Yorkshire. The train is powered by a diesel engine in its tender and it is fitted with smoke generators in the main body with full working motion. This train is numbered 462.09.Mo has been named Le General Rive-Reine which relates to the 1964 war film 'The Train'.
